Law Revision Commission
Ministry of Land and Legal Affairs
The Law Revision Commission was established under the Law Revision Act, Chap. 3:03 and is mandated to prepare, publish, and maintain the Revised Edition of the Laws of Trinidad and Tobago. It is the only body legally authorised to carry out this function.
Through this mandate, the Commission ensures that the laws of Trinidad and Tobago remain accurate, consolidated, and accessible to the public, legal professionals, government agencies, and other stakeholders. By systematically reviewing and updating legislation, the Commission helps maintain the integrity and reliability of the country’s legal framework.
Why Law Revision Matters
Law revision plays a vital role in the administration of justice and supports the work of Parliament by ensuring that legislation is organised, current, and easy to reference.
Regularly updated and accessible laws also support national development and economic growth. Accurate legal information provides confidence for businesses and investors who rely on clear and up-to-date legislation when making financial and commercial decisions in Trinidad and Tobago.
